present Yuriy Musatov`s project

2-7 July 2018 / 4 – 7 p.m.

Closing party: 18 July / 7 p.m.

In July 2018 at Shcherbenko Art Centre Ukrainian sculptor Yuriy Musatov offers the audience an interactive performance.

During the week, from 2 till 7 July, three hours per day (4 – 7 p.m.) sculptor will be creating two new objects “Cocoons” and invites visitors to involve to this process not only visually, but in live communication with the artist.  “Idea of the project – to transform gallery space into studio during the exhibition, where I will be creating clay objects. In this project the most important thing for me is interaction with visitors and the creation of a sculpture as a process”, – notes Yuriy Musatov.

Within the “In Progress” project, viewers are invited to directly learn how the clay in the hands of the sculptor turns into a sculpture. Yuriy Musatov emphasizes this in the project: “Usually, when visitors see only the result, it is much more difficult for them to understand and feel the integrity of the concept, the specifics of the artist’s work. I want to emphasize the very process of modeling, because tactile and interaction with material has great importance to me.”

The “IN PROGRESS” project includes the following phases:

2-7.07 / 4 – 7 p.m. Interactive performance / process of object creation by sculptor at Shcherbenko Art Centre. During the project video and photo documentation will take place. We invite viewers to join!

9-15.07. The process of drying and burning objects (Shcherbenko Art Centre closed). During the “In Progress” project, educational events will be held:
